The ultimate alignment of the University Corridor light rail extension will not be determined for some time, but METRO, for a variety of technical considerations, has taken one possibility out of the mix: Westheimer.

In the coming months, METRO will evaluate the remaining alignment options in terms of ridership potential, cost, engineering feasibility, right of way needs, traffic and access, and other community impacts and, with community input, select the alignment that best serves the mobility needs of the community.

Although Westheimer has been eliminated from further study at this time,  METRO would be willing to reconsider the alignment if a large segment of the corridor community were behind it.
