Description The University Corridor extends approximately 11.3 miles traveling from the Hillcroft Transit Center on the west end to the Eastwood Transit Center on the east end. Nineteen stations will be strategically located to ensure optimal ridership and efficiency of operations. The stations occurring between the end point transit centers will be: Gulfton, Bellaire, Newcastle, Weslayan, Cummins, Edloe, Kirby, Shepherd, Menil, Montrose, Wheeler, Almeda, Hutchins, TSU, Tierwester, Scott and Cullen. Significant higher educational destinations along the alignment include the University of Houston Main Campus, Texas Southern University and St. Thomas University. The added connectivity to the Main Street line will also provide access to Rice University, the University of Houston Downtown, and Houston Community College. Business destinations include Greenway Plaza, the Menil, and many other businesss that operate adjacent to the alignment. And again, the interconnectivity advantage creates farther reaching options that include the Uptown/Galleria area, U of H / Southeast area, Downtown Houston, the Museum District and the Medical Center.
