Round one of legal battle goes to METRO 

Earlier this week, METRO said the agency will continue full steam ahead with METRO Solutions.

Judge Levi Benton, of the 215th District Court, denied a plaintiff's petition to depose METRO officials in anticipation of her possible lawsuit against METRO.

City of Houston's Urban Corridor Planning wrap-up 

On Wednesday, May 23, the City of Houston's Department of Planning and Urban Development wrapped up a series of workshops on Urban Corridor Planning.

The workshops regarding the North, East End, Southeast, Uptown, and University corridors in April and May sought citizens' input to make policy recommendations.  The Department of Planning and Urban Development will announce recommendations by mid-summer, when they will hold an additional public meeting.  To sign up to receive more information, click here.

Houston's HOT Lane project plan presented at national conference 

HOT Signage.jpgThe Transportation Research Board (TRB), a division of the National Research Council, held a national conference in Houston earlier this week titled Freeway and Tolling Operations in the Americas.

About 100 persons, mostly transportation professionals from other cities in the U.S., attended a presentation by Loyd Smith, METRO's Director of Transportation Systems.   This presentation is about METRO's plan to convert High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes into High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes
