METRO Solutions soon to have new home in East End

 Las Palmas

Las Palmas Shopping Center, at 6215 Harrisburg Blvd., is the home of the future METRO Solutions / East End Corridor Office.  A lease agreement was signed late last week for the storefront that will become the office to Senior Stakeholder Affairs Representative Sylvia Medina, among other METRO Solutions team members.

You will be able to walk into the office to voice any questions or concerns you may have about the East End Corridor Guided Rapid Transit (GRT) construction project.  The office will be adequately staffed to address:

  • Small Business Enterprise / Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (SBE/DBE) Program
  • Business Development Training
  • Construction Trade Training Opportunities
  • Business Assistance Program
  • Stakeholder issues
  • Construction scheduling information

In the following weeks, we will begin staffing and furnishing this office.  As soon as we are ready to be open to the public, we will be proud to announce it.  We are working towards opening similar offices on the other corridors.

Want to hear what the CEO has to say about PPP?

You don't have to be an American Airlines (AA) frequent flyer to get the scoop on the innovative public-private partnership (PPP) approach METRO is using to build four guided rapid transit corridors.   The airline will feature a radio interview with METRO's President and CEO Frank J. Wilson on its in-flight business channel in October 2007.  We have this preview available online for you, our METRO Solutions NewsFlash subscribers.

When good news makes headlines

Ok, maybe it's not a page one headline but, our new bus service made the news this week.  The Houston Chronicle reported it in Monday's (July 2) Move It! column.  You may see this item listed among other METRO Solutions articles on this Web page.
