University Corridor meetings next week This week the Houston Chronicle weighed in with an editorial on the University Corridor Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), but we still need to hear from you. The upcoming Public Meetings/Open House events are opportunities for you to have a closer look at the DEIS, and ask for clarifications and/or submit formal written comments. Additionally, there will be a formal Public Hearing, a forum where you may present written and verbal comments or concerns. Although the Public Hearing is not designed as a question/answer session, there will be an Open House on that same day where you may seek clarification before submitting your comments. Here's the schedule:
Bike racks now on all weekend routes Since METRO began installing bike racks back in April, many of you called or e-mailed asking for bike racks on all buses. Although that will happen closer to the end of the year, METRO has come up with an interim solution for the biking community: bike racks on all weekend routes. Hope you enjoy them. More details are available in this news release. Attention HP/Cypress P&R customers In spite of rumors to the contrary, METRO is not starting operations from the new Cypress Park & Ride facility this Monday (August 13). A definitive date has not yet been set. We will make a formal announcement once a date has been confirmed. |
