As part of METRO Solutions, METRO is developing 47 miles of BRT. The first line, called Bellaire Quickline, will complement the very popular #2 Bellaire bus route. The 9 mile route will run from Ranchester Station to the Texas Medical Center Transit Center. (see map below) This route will have only 8 stations versus the 53 bus stops for the #2 Bellaire.

The Quickline service is just like an express train service; fewer stops means quicker and more dependable service. Running every 15 minutes during morning and evening rush hours, using the Bellaire Quickline service reduces your travel time by 25%!

What does it cost?
Good news, this premium service charges the same $1.25 as your regular local bus and all discounts apply.

What's so special about Quickline?

  • First of all, Quickline has a distinctively unique bunny branding. Second, the service boasts modern transit stations, each clearly branded with a unique station name. Stations are well illuminated and include leaning rails with integrated public art. The distinctive, clearly marked stations are easily identified with brightly lit Quickline station signs. Audible messages provide customer information in English and Spanish.
  • Technical upgrades to make it easier to plan your trips. Next bus arrival time for the next two buses is displayed accurately and in real time on electronic signs.
  • It's easy to tell when you see a Bellaire Quickline bus coming your way. The new environmentally friendly hybrid buses have a distinctive design. On the inside, these special buses have comfortable cushioned seats, enhanced announcements, linear route maps and onboard Q-card re-loaders. And of course, the vehicles are 100% ADA accessible so that all METRO riders can enjoy the convenience and comfort of these bus rapid transit vehicles.
