METRO Solutions Communities in Motion is partnering with the Greater Southeast Management District Business and Economic Development Committee to bring new resources to area businesses. METRO is in Phase 2 of a $1.46 billion light rail expansion program and $25 million has already been awarded to 24 small businesses.

During the development phase (Phase 1), METRO awarded 399 contracts and subcontracts to small and disadvantaged businesses for an estimated $71.6 million. This represents 52 percent of the dollars spent during Phase 1. Ninety-four percent of those contracts were issued to local firms. Small and local businesses are expected to receive $335 million in eligible contract work.
